I completed my doctoral training in clinical psychology at the University of Iowa, where I also conducted research on LGBTQ+ health equity in youth and young adults. This was followed by a presidential postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota, with a focus on mental health disparities in youth who hold marginalized identities. My research has focused on risk and protective factors for youth and understanding the ways structural inequities affect mental health.
I bring this research background into my clinical practice by integrating evidence-based approaches with multicultural humility and a deep respect for the diverse experiences and identities clients bring into therapy.
I’ve worked or trained in large hospital systems, community clinics, schools, and specialized programs focused on treating LGBTQ+ mental health and trauma in youth and young adults. This has shaped my approach to be affirming, collaborative, and trauma-informed. Click the button below to see my current research through google scholar.
